I have tossed and turned
for many hours in the night,
alright!
I would just pray
everything is alright!

My heavy heart
had a package too heavy
for me to lift.
Praise God
for this special gift!

It was not in a box,
and it did not have a bow,
but it is the most precious gift
I could ever know!

In my hands,
I hold a book
to tell me how to live,
but first
I must ask God
to forgive!

It doesn’t matter
who is right or wrong;
His blood can heal the wound
that has been bleeding
so very long!

I feel this need
to be said,
and don’t want regrets
on my deathbed!

All these years
just keep going by—
that is the reason
that I sit here,
and sigh.
