They were right, it sure did, din' it?
Man, I swear, if I could go back,
Sure I'd make the same mistakes,
But there's some I'd take back.
I don' wanna call it regret per say
But I'd be lyin if I called it by no'ther name.
I hear so many stories 'bout people
Sayin they been wronged
And cause of it, now they're mind is off.
But all the bad that's come to me
Ain't much compared to the wrongs come from me.
That's what haunts my sleep
The ones I hurt along the way,
The ones I let down,
The ones on whom I lef' scars,
The ones who I forgot about,
The ones who depended on me,
The ones who needed me.
See, what I was not aware of,
When you live fast,
You get to the finish line quicker.
And if you don't die young,
You're just there,
Somewhere in space, thinking,
Half empty bottle of whiskey,
You, and memories
That can't be changed or
Re-created.
Can you imagine it without the whiskey?
Now that's my definition of Hell.

Lee Call is currently serving a 20-year non-violent sentence. He arrived at Lawton prison determined not to let his time be wasted.
