I've looked to the skies and into the eyes
Nature numb me of those who say
Pills numb me, they've seen God
Streets numb me, see hollow, empty spots
God, say something! Pools of desperation
I've traded my life lingering lamentations
And I've got nothing to show
Hiding a myriad of no closer now than
Unanswered questions I was before, behind
Fabricated answers, no peace but a doctrine of
Sugar-coating surpasses understanding fear for controlling
No assurance of the monsters of men,
The beasts within eternal blessing - Nothing -
And to pacify the mind I've gazed upon holy pages
Heard the voice of sages who claim to hold ultimate truth
Pious knees are bruised no one has got a clue
Under the sun, nothing new.

Lee Call is currently serving a 20-year non-violent sentence. He arrived at Lawton prison determined not to let his time be wasted.
