As I staged
Connected to your hip
I remember crying
Seeing you arrested
Because
You could do no wrong
My little eyes
Peeking from the covers
You had growing pains
And I wish
I had taken notes sooner
Of the way you
Overcame everj/ obstacle
Every challenge, every hurdle
That life presented
And now
The Great Molder of Life
Has formed you
Into a beautiful woman
That has been
One of my greatest joys
Of witnessing
I only hope that
As I remember
Your strength
Your will and .tenacity
That I too
Will one day be formed
Into something special
And that together
We share the joy
Of witnessing
Who we've become
